Menopause-Informed Care

Bria Menopause Mental Health Certified logo.

Perimenopause and Menopause Realities

What you are experiencing is real, biological, and documented. You know your body and mind better than anyone else, and you recognize when something isn’t right. Changes in hormone levels can create physical, mental, and emotional challenges ranging from uncomfortable to debilitating, impacting menopause mental health significantly. Your sleep, mood, concentration, sex life, pain levels, body image, and overall health can all suffer during the transition from perimenopause to post menopause.

You deserve support from trained medical professionals who can provide individualized, culturally-sensitive recommendations for your relief through hormone therapy. There are menopause-informed or certified physicians, APRNs, and functional medicine practitioners specializing in hormone therapy who can assist you.

How Can Therapy Help?

As a menopause mental health provider certified by the BRIA Academy, I am dedicated to raising awareness and supporting women’s mental health during perimenopause and menopause. This commitment extends to providing menopause resources, including essential information about perimenopause and menopause, resources for finding menopause-specific healthcare that suits your needs, guidance on preparing for conversations with your healthcare provider, and support for the mental and emotional challenges these hormonal changes can bring.

I use a blend of cognitive insights, behavioral activation, mindfulness skills, ego-state interventions, somatic awareness, and EMDR therapy to help you develop effective strategies for improving menopause-related mental health issues, such as:

- Depression and anxiety

- Trauma triggers

- Grief

- Sleep quality

- Sexual intimacy

- Relationships

Additionally, I collaborate with partners who wish to understand better and support the women in their lives dealing with menopause-related changes, including discussions about hormone therapy.
