Priscilla McChristian, LCSW is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma as well as attachment wounds resulting from emotional neglect and abuse. She is committed to bringing proven therapies and interventions to the therapeutic process in a thoughtful, creative way that honors each individual. Priscilla incorporates mindfulness practices to help reorient clients into the present moment and supportive parts work to nurture unmet emotional needs. Priscilla is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which draws on the body’s natural ability to heal. She is trained in Somatic Integration and Processing (SIP) and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), which also emphasize the autonomic nervous system’s role in healing from attachment wounding and trauma.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Priscilla spent 16 years working in higher education administration, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Chancellor at UA Little Rock. A long-time advocate for women’s rights, she also worked for the Feminist Majority Foundation in Washington, DC.
